Mount Fuji – Round 2!!!

7:20AM - Managed to snap another shot of Mt. Fuji as the clouds cleared up.

Round 2! Yes, you heard right, Round 2!  Sorry for the month absence, but life has been extremely busy and a lot of changes have been going on in the background.  Excuses aside, it’s Mt. Fuji climbing season again.  After giving it some thought, I decided to climb it again from the 5th station this year, hoping to get some people to come with me this time around. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. No one took me up for the offer, so… … you know what that means? YES! I am doing the Sea to Summit trip YET AGAIN!

As crazy as it sounds, I don’t think I want it any other way. Even though I suffered a significant amount whilst on the trip last year, looking back on it, it was truly a memorable experience. Aside from the actual hike itself, I really enjoyed the time I spent in solitude with my introspective thoughts.  I got to learn a lot about myself and it gave me the kick I needed to start moving forward with things that I’ve always wanted to do.

Sappy story asides, last year I got to tackle this alone and it was truly an amazing experience. However, this time I want to try to share the experience with you all. Yup, all 4 of you that actually bother to read this blog. (j/k j/k) So, how do I plan to do this? I want to try to keep you all updated with my progress up the mountain itself by taking some video and uploading up over at my YouTube Channel every couple hours of the hike.  I will also be tweeting out random updates on my @KantoKitsune Twitter account as long as there is an active internet connection.

My current Itinerary is to start the climb at 11:59PM of Friday, July 18th.  I plan to make it to the 5th Station by the early afternoon of the 19th, then get up to the 9th station by 10pm and rest up for a bit before taking the final trek to the top and watching the Sunrise at 4:30AM on Sunday morning.  The trek will take around 30 hours or so, so hopefully my phone battery and spare batteries will last me the entire trip.

So wish me luck and keep up with me at the following locations:

I look forward to start this awesome trip again and I am excited to share it with you all 😀
